The Cat and the Cock

The sun slowly rises on an old farm. A red-crested rooster climbs onto the roof. He flaps his wings and crows joyfully. His loud voice echoes throughout the yard.

A hungry cat watches him secretly. He jumps on the rooster with his sharp claws. "You are a very noisy bird!" says the cat. "You disturb everyone with your ugly voice."

The rooster bravely answers the cat. "I wake people up from sleep every morning. They welcome my voice with joy." The cat gets very angry at this logical answer.

"Then you are definitely a thief!" he says. "You secretly eat people's golden yellow wheat." The rooster defends himself honestly again. "People give me those delicious wheats themselves."

The cat has no excuses left to say. He looks at the rooster angrily. "I don't care at all that you are right! Because I am just very hungry!" he shouts wildly.

\nThe wicked cat attacks the innocent rooster ruthlessly.

"The tyrant's excuse never runs out."
