The Blind Man

An old blind man lived in a small village. With his hands he knew every animal at once. He knew the kind of the animal right away. Some playful young men wanted to trick him. They brought a little wolf cub from the forest. They put the cub on the old man's lap. "Which animal is this?" they asked.

The old man moved his hands over the soft fur. He touched the sharp ears and the small paws. He thought for a while and said nothing. The young men waited for the answer. The old man shook his head slowly.

"Maybe a dog, maybe a wolf," he said. "But I know one thing," he said. "This animal is not good near sheep," he answered. The playful young men admired his deep sense. They carried the cub back to the forest calmly. Even one touch showed the dangerous nature of the animal.

A wolf cub always becomes a wolf.
