The Beaver
A clever beaver lived in a green forest. The beaver had very soft and shiny fur. One day hunters came to the forest. The hunters wanted the beautiful fur. The beaver saw them and ran away fast.
The hunters ran behind him with nets. The beaver understood: they only wanted the fur. He pulled off his fur onto the grass. Then he jumped fast into the cold river. The hunters saw the fur and stopped.
They took it and left the forest happily. The clever beaver came safely to the bank. He had no fur, but he was happy. Life is worth more than any riches. Better to lose your goods than your life.
