Prometheus and the Humans
Long ago, under the high sky, there was a huge, colourful world. In this beautiful world lived a clever master named Prometheus. Prometheus loved to make new creatures out of clay. That day he mixed earth and water and shaped sweet little figures. The god Zeus looked at this new world and smiled with joy. Zeus ordered Prometheus, "Give life to these creatures."
Master Prometheus started at once and woke them all up. But Zeus looked around and saw far more animals than people. Great Zeus said to Prometheus, "There are too many animals now." "Break some animals apart and turn them into people," he added. Prometheus obeyed the order and shaped some animals into human form. Sly foxes, strong lions and sweet birds became people.
But these new people never forgot their old habits. The people who came from foxes always acted very slyly. The lion people were brave, the donkey people were stubborn. That is why every person in the world has a different character. People began to live with these special habits in their hearts. Inside every person lives a piece of nature from their own past. It takes all sorts to make a world.
