Hermes and the Seer
Long ago a wise blind seer lived. The god Hermes wanted to test him. Hermes secretly stole and hid the oxen. Then he visited the seer as a man. Hermes asked the seer about his oxen.
The seer led Hermes outside and heard birds. Hermes saw a black crow in a tree. The crow looked up and cried strangely. The seer knew the crow's voice at once. The seer smiled and told Hermes the truth.
"This crow says you stole my oxen," he said. Hermes was very surprised at this great power. He saw his mistake and returned the oxen. True wisdom and honesty always win. Truth always comes to light.
