A Wolf Among Lions
A wolf wandering behind a lion pride and feeding on their leftovers began to consider himself a lion too. When returning next to his fellow wolves, the wolf boasted, despised them all, and looked down on them. The wolf said "I hang out with lions, I am noble and strong just like them." An old and wise wolf looked at him and said "While standing beside lions you may think yourself a lion, but beside us you are only a wolf."
Being beside great and powerful people does not grant a person their power and status. Those who boast of borrowed statuses face their true identity when coming beside their equals. Forgetting one's own species and real situation and succumbing to false pride is a great defeat. A person's value depends not on where they stand, but on their own intrinsic qualities.
Being beside superior ones does not make a person superior. Borrowed pride quickly extinguishes. Do not forget your own essence. Looking strong with someone else is falsity.
True identity is revealed in assembly. One who knows their place does not get embarrassed. A person's value is in their essence.
